This will probably be my last post on Teams, but I wanted you all to have the latest direction the city is taking MSSA. It appears that the rumors are true and they want to eliminate the higher divisions of rec and move them to MSSA. Those of you who participated in the fall ‘21 saw the level of competition we played against.
Thanks for everything and good luck to those in the spring. Any questions comments or concerns should be directed to the City.
From the city:
Hello all parents,
As we approach the end of the year its time for us to begin thinking about our spring sports plans.
For those who played in the Fall 2021 season I am seeking some simple feedback as it relates to the upcoming season. The survey attached please fill out no later than Sunday December 5th. The Pataskala Youth Soccer League is seeking to expand the MSSA league and offering additional players the opportunity play in the same environment many of you have experienced. This coming Fall we have 4-6 additional coaches who will be added to the league. Several of the coaches have many years of experience playing and coaching soccer.
Parents feel free to reach out if you have any further questions
https://forms.gle/hXoVr1TPZ7UZPwhR9See below for the upcoming season outlook:
The Middle School Soccer Association is open to all participants within the Pataskala area that are 12-14 years of age or in the 7th or 8th grade. If there is a player who is 11 and has played in the league as of 2021 and would like to remain in this league this is not an issue. MSSA is an upper recreational program. MSSA teams plays teams from other communities in the Central Ohio area.
MSSA teams are coached by parent volunteers from the Pataskala area. The league has both co-ed and girls only teams available. Games are typically played on Thursday and Saturdays for co-ed teams. There are typically 5 home games and 5 away games. The schedule is made by another league (CESA), but subject to change. Coaches can adjust schedules to field and team member availability. Week day games may be out of division but closer to home while weekend games tend to be in division and may travel anywhere in Central Ohio.
